COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING POLICY

Purpose:

A financial allocation will be determined annually to provide direct assistance to specific community initiatives that support the vision, goals and objectives of Diversity Thunder Bay.

Timelines for submissions:

Funds will be allocated on a project by project basis throughout a fiscal year.

Application Components:

Applicants must submit a request which outlines:

i. The objectives of the project

ii. The expected benefits

iii. The timing of the project

iv. The project budget

v. How the project will support the goals and principles of Diversity Thunder Bay

vi. The recognition opportunities for Diversity Thunder Bay

vii. Identify what the outcome would be if the funds requested through Diversity Thunder Bay are not approved.

Approval Process:

The Executive Committee will review project applications and bring forward proposals that clearly demonstrate the ability to achieve the goals of the annually established community project fund.

A recommendation will be made to the membership at the next regular meeting of Diversity Thunder Bay following receipt of the application, its review and circulation to the membership.

Notes:

1. Preference will be given to applicants that are members of Diversity Thunder Bay.

2. Diversity Thunder Bay will not provide funding to organizations whose project is a fund raiser for their organization.

3. The project must have a Thunder Bay or regional focus.

4. A report is to be submitted to Diversity Thunder Bay following the conclusion of the project.
